Royal Armouries Leeds, Thursday 12th August 2014 – just a selection of the comic and film characters that were present.
A fun event for the family at Royal Armouries.Entertainment may vary each day depending on who is available and what gear they have to hand – rumour has it the Batmobile will be there on Wednesday & Thursday (13th & 14th).
Part of the fun for kids is obviously the rushing around getting photographed with the favourite hero or villain. However there was also the thrills of watching Batman take on Deadpool in one-to-one combat.
In the end Batman was victorious.
I attended a talk by Supergirl on weapons used in Call of Duty. Yes, Supergirl. Talks on weapons at the Royal Armouries are always very informative. Most of these talks include insights and anecdotes, sometime a little theatrics.
Also roaming the Armouries were other stars of comics and films such as this pair of Dredd 2012 Judges, left.
And right Judge Dredd from the comics, I think that’s a prototype Planet Replicas uniform from Judge Minty.
All the entertainment was free, sometimes there are small charges for some events. For example there was also a Falconry Display today charged at £4.00 for Adults and £2.00 for Children.
Entry to the museum is also free and is open daily from 10am till 5pm every day except 24th, 25th and 26th of December.
I will be going again on Thursday to see what else is going on, I will write a follow-up article detailing that visit.
