Something new this way comes – 2000AD Prog 1900 is a ‘Jump On’ point

My subscription copy of Prog 1899 arrived in the post on Saturday and will be in shops Wednesday 17th September.

Prog 1900 will be arriving with subscribers on Saturday 20th September and will be on general sale on Wednesday 24th September. With three new stories this is a Jump On point.

2000AD regularly have a Jump On Prog where new or lapsed readers can have a fresh start. All the stories are new and usually if information is needed from previous stories there is a ‘what happened last’ style introduction. Most writers for 2000AD though will give all the information that is essential in the story itself.

Below is an excerpt from an e-mail I received on Wednesday 10th September. This e-mail is called the ‘Thrill Mail’, I’m guessing regular readers of this blog may well already be subscribing (they are probably not reading this article though) but you can subscribe to the Thrill Mail and keep up with everything.

2000AD Prog 1900 Dredd

Judge Dredd: Block Judge
Judge Dredd co-creators John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra return as Dredd takes on the problems of a single city block – but is Mega-City One’s toughest lawman up to the challenge of ‘community policing’?

2000AD Prog 1900 Kingdom

Kingdom: Aux Drift
In the far future, mankind has been all but destroyed and genetically-modified dogs fight giant insects in a post apocalyptic Earth. Dan Abnett and Richard Elson team up again to bring you the ballad of Gene the Hackman!

2000AD Prog 1900 Stickleback

Stickleback: The Thru’Penny Opera
In London at the end of the 19th Century, Stickleback is Ian Edginton and D’Israeli’s master criminal who pulls the strings amidst the denizens of the capital’s underworld, and leads a gang of freaks, oddballs and semi-supernatural entities that have got the city under their thumb. But what is his darkest secret? And can he keep it hidden ’til the very end?
