2000AD Digital Services expand – iOS, Android and Webshop

Digital2000AD has had a digital store for quite some time now, variably referred to as Webshop or Futureshop by customers. There is a wide range of products available to order including back issues and collections of classic material. subscriptions to 2000AD and Judge Dredd Megazine, subscribers receive their physical copy in the post on the Saturday prior to general release on the following Wednesday.

Many items are also available to download from the Webshop as DRM free PDF or CBZ files.

On 8th August 2012 2000AD they introduced their popular iOS App where customers can buy and read most items from the store including subscriptions – with up to three months back issues included.

Digital AndNow they have launched an Android App offering the same services.

Further – due to a new log in system any products purchased in either the iOS or Android Apps can later also be downloaded from the Webshop at no extra charge.

The next stage of digital development will allow anything purchased in the Webshop to be later downloaded at no extra cost to the iOS and Android Apps. Customers will have the ability to easily access all their purchases in whichever format required.

Jason Kingsley, CEO of Rebellion (the owners of 2000AD) said:

“Our iPad app has been a great success and proved there’s a big market out there for digital 2000 AD. The Android app has also been the ideal time to roll out the function that allows app users to download DRM-free copies of their purchases from our shop, so they’ll no longer have to choose between in-app or DRM-free comics again. This is the next leap forward for 2000 AD, which will introduce the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic to a whole new readership!”
