This title was originally announced as Rom of The Reds but there has been a renaming due to another company’s character of a similar name.

I’ve already written an article about this comic, with preview art and done an interview with artist Dan Cornwell.

BHP are a publishing house from Scotland who are also behind the Glasgow Comic Con. They have a growing range of Creator Owned projects with this being the latest. You can read my reviews of Plague: The Miranda Chronicles and The Heather Ale.

This comic has gained a lot of interest and I’m certainly looking forward to it.

One of the best things about this story is how John Wagner picked Dan Cornwell as the artist for this after seeing his work in the fanzine Dogbreath.

BHP said:

“Industry legends John Wagner and Alan Grant (Judge Dredd, Strontium Dog, Judgement on Gotham, A History of Violence) team up once again to bring you Rok of the Reds alongside stunning art by Dan Cornwell.

Rok of the Reds is a six part series showing what happens when the lives of a dangerous intergalactic outlaw and an arrogant footballer collide. With his home world destroyed, Rok of Arkadi is on the run and needs a hiding place. And that hiding place happens to be troubled football star Kyle Dixon.

A black comedy about revenge, redemption and the ‘beautiful game’.”
