One of the overaching theses then is that actions have consequences.

Despite the fact the Sov Block started the Apocalypse War the Day of Chaos was the ultimate end of that conflict despite Mega-City One apparently winning 30 years earlier.

Now there are mass graves outside the walls of Mega-City One; with seven times more dead than survivors inside.

At the same time there are those outside the city that want to go inside. Such characters include Yodie and Belle, a young couple with hopes of a better life in the Big Meg.

Unscrupulous people are everywhere, inside and outside the walls. Poor Yodie meets some that want to make a bit of money out of those that didn’t survive the East Meg revenge of Day of Chaos.

The theme of repercussions carries on in the back-up story by John Wagner and Richard Elson.
