The original Misty ran for 101 issues between February 1978 and January 1980.

Misty merged with sister title Tammy (February 1971 – June 1984) which was renamed Tammy and Misty until September 1981.

Both titles were weekly and aimed at girls. Misty was Horror and suspense theme while Tammy was more general interest.

Girls comics were hot property in that era with Tammy outselling 2000AD at points.
